I am writing in response to the Dec. 22 editorial regarding the Lee County Jail project and “thinking outside the box.” Since I have been on the Lee County Board, the county has addressed many deficiencies within the Lee County Law Enforcement building. Many initiatives have been implemented that have addressed numerous concerns for safety and security, saving thousands of dollars in the process.
