An employee at the U.S Bureau of Prisons in Oakdale has filed a lawsuit, alleging she was intentionally discriminated against. Cindy La Jan Patton claims in her suit that the bureau discriminated against her on the basis of her sex and for reprisal for a federally protected activity involving a workplace violence complaint, filed against a male union member, and an unfair labor practice brought against the local union, not against management. The lawsuit suit seeks $3,700 for monetary losses, loss of job opportunities, and other damages for embarrassment and humiliation endured because of the alleged discrimination. |
