| Inmate Dies While Serving Sentence at Mount Pleasant Prison |

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) - A prison inmate serving a ten year sentence for theft out of Linn County has died in a Mount Pleasant prison. Iowa Department of Corrections officials say Mark Douglas Olsen, who was serving a 10 year sentence, was found unresponsive on a bathroom floor at the Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility on Sunday afternoon. Olsen was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead at 1:20 p.m., officials said. The Department of Corrections said Olsen will undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death, however, it is believed he died of natural causes. Read More. |
