| Gov. Bevin wants pay increases for troopers, corrections staff |

LYON COUNTY, Ky. - With three state prison facilities in Lyon County, including the State Penitentiary in Eddyville, Judge Executive Wade White said he knows the struggles — both financial and physical — the job can have on employees. "I hear the difficulties that they are going through," White said. White believes the long hours and low pay are causing people to leave their jobs. "Our department of corrections and our Kentucky State Police have been overlooked for far too long," he said. He started the Pay the Badge initiative last year to try to get lawmakers to approve pay increases. White said it is gaining traction, even with Gov. Matt Bevin. Read More. |
