Five residents of an Arnold halfway house were sent back to jail for violating parole after allegedly using synthetic marijuana, known as “K2,” in December, according to Alle-Kiski Pavilion officials. In each case, the men had seizures or other medical problems and agitated behavior that required intervention by medics. At least one man was hospitalized. K2 is an illegal synthetic drug that, when smoked, mimics the effects of the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. K2 has made users seriously ill in the Alle-Kiski Valley, but no one has died from it here, officials said.
