| Man gets extra prison time for trying to possess weapon at Cape Vincent Correctional Facility |

WATERTOWN — An Oswego man already serving up to a four-year state prison sentence was sentenced Tuesday in Jefferson County Court to up to three additional years’ incarceration for trying to possess a weapon while held at Cape Vincent Correctional Facility. Anthony W. Burk, 26, was sentenced to 1½ to 3 extra years in prison after pleading guilty in December to third-degree attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He admitted that he tried to possess a handmade weapon with a sharp edge Jan. 20 while incarcerated at the prison in Cape Vincent. He is serving a 11/3- to 4-year prison sentence imposed in Oswego County Court in 2011 for a first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of motor vehicle conviction, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision website. He was sentenced Tuesday as a second-felony offender based on the Oswego County conviction. Read More. |
