DETROIT - Two men are in custody Tuesday night after a Michigan Department of Corrections officer was fired on while attempting to make an arrest in Detroit. Three men committed multiple robberies Monday night, taking cellphones and other items. Officers called one of the victim's phones Tuesday and one of the thieves answered not knowing it was a set up. When they met at an agreed place around 3:30 p.m., the suspect realized what was happening and as a Michigan Department of Corrections officer attempted to make an arrest and the suspect fired a shot, striking the officer's vehicle.
