| Corrections commissioner to speak at Law Enforcement Dinner |

VALDOSTA — The Rotary Club of Valdosta presents Homer Bryson, commissioner to the Georgia Department of Corrections and a Valdosta State graduate, as the featured guest speaker at the Ninth Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner Thursday at the James H. Rainwater Conference Center. Bryson began his career with state government in 1983 as a conservation ranger with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and rose to the position of colonel of the law-enforcement section where he directed natural resource-related law-enforcement actions and efforts statewide. A four-year term as deputy commissioner of DNR followed. He was appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal to head the GDC on Feb. 5, 2015. Read More. |
