Fugitive cuts off ankle monitor, escapes police in Magna by ramming cruiser

A violent fugitive, on the run since cutting off his ankle monitor, remained at large Monday after having allegedly escaped the law by driving through tire spikes and ramming a Unified Police cruiser.

Christopher John McMillan, 43, has been at large since last Wednesday. Then, about 6 p.m. Saturday, he was spotted getting into a car with two women in West Valley City.

The fugitive reportedly was a passenger at first, but when he realized a WVCPD police car was following him, he pushed the women out of the vehicle near Highway 201 and 7400 West in neighboring Magna, police said. McMillan then jumped behind the wheel and sped away, police said.
