A prison guard found meth and a cellphone in a closet at the Nebraska State Penitentiary, and investigators are trying to determine who put it there, court documents say. On Jan. 7, a correctional officer searched a mop closet in one of the housing units and found an LG smartphone, a baggie containing several smaller baggies with something solid inside, tissue paper with scorch marks and several pieces of foil, Trooper Ryan Henrichs wrote in an affidavit for a search warrant. The little baggies held white crystals weighing a total of 20 grams and tested positive for methamphetamine, the trooper wrote. The officer confiscated the items, including the cellphone which is contraband inside state prisons, and Henrichs wrote that he suspects the phone "is a tool used to communicate criminal activity," the affidavit said.
