| Police department now providing ‘real-time alerts’ |

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP — The Forsyth Township Police Department recently activated the Nixle alerts system. With the addition of this technology, members of the public will be able to receive text message alerts from the police. The texts are sent to phones for reasons like community alerts, accidents, road closures, stolen vehicles, and missing persons. The initial response from the public has been positive since the system was activated. “We want to be progressive and be able to use things like this,” said Forsyth Township Police Department Chief Gordie Warchock, “our job is easier when we work with the community and share information back and forth with the community. We try to be transparent about what we do here and Nixle is just one of those things that helps us do that and accomplish our mission.” Read More. |
