| Escaped inmates remain on run |

DES MOINES, Iowa —The two men who escaped from a work release facility remain at large, according to the Iowa Department of Corrections. Jasper County, Polk County and Warren County sheriff's departments, the Des Moines Police Department and 5th District Warrant Team have been notified. Michael Amodeo and Jessy Foley failed to return to the Newton minimum security Correctional Release Center Saturday night. The American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees blames funding for three inmates recently escaping correctional facilities. Danny Homan, president of the organization, said an increase in staff is needed to prevent similar situations. Read More. |
