| Newton Inmates Still At Large, Some Residents on Edge |

NEWTON, Iowa -- The two inmates that escaped from the Newton Minimum Security Correctional Release Center over the weekend remain at large Monday. The Department of Corrections says officials are investigating the escape and discussing ways they can prevent it from happening again. Michael Amodeo and Jessy Foley were both serving sentences on drug charges. Fred Scaletta, the Department of Corrections assistant director, said most of the inmates in the minimum security center working their way out of the system. Read More. |
