| Four arrested in attempt to bring marijuana into Ridgeland prison |

Four men from Walterboro were arrested attempting to bring marijuana into the Ridgeland Correctional Institution. At about 6:45 a.m. Feb. 22, Ridgeland officers assisted county deputies in response to a Chevy Impala on Interstate 95 around mile marker 22 that picked up three males who were seen carrying duffel bags from the woods bordering the prison. Ivan Tyquan Warren, 18, and Shyheem Jimell Roden, 20, both of Walterboro, were arrested and charged with introducing contraband into the prison after prison officials discovered a quantity of marijuana thrown over the fence. Major Donald Hipp of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office did not know the amount of marijuana found since the prison’s investigators took possession of the evidence. S.C.
