| New WI Corrections secretary vows to restore public trust in agency |

MADISON (WKOW) -- The new head of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections vowed to restore trust in the agency during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety Wednesday. Secretary Jon Litscher took over at DOC Monday, after Ed Wall resigned from the position amid an FBI investigation into abuse allegations at Lincoln Hills, the state youth prison located north of Wausau. Litscher told committee members that investigation is of primary concern to him. He also talked about the need to fill the massive shortage of guards at state prisons so the department can stop the practice of assigning forced overtime, which often results in 16 hour shifts.
