THE Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., which gets most of its funding from the federal government, was again granted an extension by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in connection with the termination date of their provider agreement.

CHCC CEO Esther Muna on Friday said the termination date was extended to Oct. 31, 2016.

“Without a revisit before the end of February, as expected, an extension was granted,” she added. “We are grateful to CMS for granting us this extension. Since CHCC submitted the plan of correction to CMS, it was expected that CMS would return to validate those plans.”

She added, “We are humbled by the trust to give us more time to collect data and continue to work on improving our hospital services. We will continue to stay on the right course to meet all CMS standards.”
