Police are investigating the escape of a offender from the Fort Des Moines Work Release Facility. Timothy Lee Watson, 45, was placed on escape status today. He failed to return from his place of employment to the residential minimum-security work release facility, according to a news release from the Iowa Department of Corrections. Watson was convicted in Polk County for second degree robbery and three counts of first degree theft and is serving a 40-year sentence.
