TRENTON >> A New Jersey inmate serving a 30-year prison for robbery and kidnapping admitted Monday to severely beating a female corrections officer in February 2014. Fuquan Alexander, 31, was indicted by Mercer County prosecutors on charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault after he tried to beat to death corrections officer Eligia Then, in a brutal attack at New Jersey state prison that led to her being hospitalized for weeks with brain damage. On Monday, Alexander pleaded guilty to aggravated assault under terms of a plea deal with prosecutors that calls for him to serve 10 years in state prison. Read More. |
