| Concerns arise over downtown halfway house after alleged sexual assault by resident |

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - Some St. Louis City officials say they are concerned about a state-run halfway house near downtown. The concern comes after a resident from the halfway house walked out of the facility and allegedly committed a sexual assault at a downtown parking garage. Police say Timothy Ates, 37, committed the assault on March 4. Missouri Department of Corrections officials say Ates was declared an absconder from supervision at the St. Louis Community Release Center on the day of the incident. The center helps offenders just released from jail or prison transition to living in the community. Read More. |
