| Fire causes evacuation of Salt Lake parolee facility |

SALT LAKE CITY — A fire ignited inside the Orange Street Community Correctional Center on Wednesday, leading to 26 residents being temporarily relocated. The residents, all women, were allowed to take a few belongings with them to the Atherton Community Treatment Center in West Valley City, said Utah Department of Corrections spokeswoman Brooke Adams. The fire was reported around 6:30 p.m. inside a bedroom at the affected facility, 80 S. Orange St. (1900 West), according to Adams. The sprinkler system also caused flooding in the center's housing area, she said. The affected facility houses parolees, according to information on the Department of Corrections' website.
