An inmate at the Buncombe County jail has been charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer after she 'mule kicked' the deputy in the knee.

Auriel Lavonne Moore, 18, of Charlotte, was charged March 9 with assault causing physical injury to a law enforcement officer, according to an arrest warrant.

The charge stems from Moore “intentionally aiming and mule kicking a Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office deputy in the knee, causing a knot and bruising," according to the warrant. She was also charged with resisting arrest for refusing to obey commands, physically resisting restraint and attempting to free herself from officers.
