Bravery nomination for Wellington Correctional officers

OFFICERS involved in subduing inmates after an incident at Wellington Correctional Centre last week will be nominated for bravery awards, according to the NSW minister for corrections.

David Elliott made the announcement after closed circuit television (CCTV) footage was released outlining what happened on the afternoon of Thursday, March 10.

At 3.30pm on that date officers were responding to a fire alarm and had extinguished the blaze enough to allow the inmates to be removed from the cell.
