| Cellphones, knives found at prison following disturbance |

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Corrections officers say they found 30 cellphones, makeshift knives and other contraband during a search after an uprising at William C. Holman Correctional Facility. A Department of Corrections spokesman on Sunday said emergency response teams searched the prison housing units after the situation was contained. During the Friday night disturbance, inmates stabbed the prison warden and a corrections officer, lit a fire and tried to take over the prison dormitory. Read More. |
