| Inmate sentenced to state prison wrongly released |

The Marion County Sheriff's Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding an inmate who was sentenced to go to an Indiana prison, but released from the county jail Monday. Levi Garrett, 32, of Indianapolis was convicted of dealing methamphetamine and carrying a handgun with a prior felony conviction on March 9, according to online court records. At the time of Garrett's conviction, he was in custody at the Marion County Jail, online jail records indicate. But late Monday night, for unknown reasons, he was released from jail. Read More. |
