LINCOLN, Neb.-- A Nebraska Department of Correctional Services spokesperson said three Lincoln Correctional Center employees were assaulted by an inmate Sunday morning. In a statement, Communications Director Andrew D. Nystrom said it happened around 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 13. He said two of the staff members were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries as a precaution and were subsequently released. The names of the staff and inmate are not being released at this time pending the completion of an investigation. Assault on Nebraska Department of Correctional Services staff will not be tolerated. As always, NDCS will investigate the incident and submit our findings to the local district attorney for prosecution. Read More. |
