Three people were injured last Wednesday morning after a high-speed police chase leads to a violent collision at a South Salt Lake, Utah, intersection. The chase started when a police officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but instead of pulling over the suspect led the officer on a pursuit. Shortly afterward, the police officer called off the chase after determining the high-speed circumstances were too dangerous. A few moments later, the fugitive reportedly sped through the intersection of 3900 South and 700 West and collided with two vehicles. One was a pickup truck driven by Theresa Castillo, 25, of Salt Lake City. The other vehicle was a state van carrying several inmates. Castillo was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. An inmate inside the van was also slightly injured. The driver of the suspect vehicle, Brian Busick, 39, was flown to the hospital in extremely critical condition. |
