| Wisconsin Senate approves Jon Litscher as new corrections secretary |

The Wisconsin Senate voted nearly unanimously to approve Jon Litscher as the state's new Department of Corrections secretary, with three Democrats opposing the appointment on Tuesday. Sens. Tim Carpenter, D-Milwaukee, Chris Larson, D-Milwaukee, and Robert Wirch, D-Pleasant Prairie, voted against Litscher's appointment. Litscher, addressing the Senate judiciary committee earlier this month, promised to work to restore the public's trust in the agency, acknowledging "many serious concerns" throughout the department. Allegations of abuse at the Lincoln Hills juvenile corrections facility are a primary concern, said Litscher, who was appointed by Gov.
