| Nevada inmate serving life sentence dies at 86 |

An inmate serving a life sentence at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City died Sunday afternoon, prison officials said. James Henry Burks, 86, died at the Regional Medical Facility about 4:50 p.m., according to a Department of Corrections press release Monday. The release did not specificy a cause or manner of death. Burks was committed Nov. 2, 1999 after the stabbing death of Debra Ann Boykin, 42, in Las Vegas that year. Read More. |
