| Former Angola Warden speaks out after investigation ends |

Former Angola Warden Burl Cain is speaking out for the first time since state investigators determined there was no evidence of illegal activity in some of his real estate dealings. The investigation came after complaints that Cain directed subordinates to perform work at his homes in Baton Rouge. Cain resigned at the beginning of the year after the Advocate published an article outlining private real estate deals he entered into with relatives and friends of favored inmates He called a news conference today following the announcement Tuesday that the investigation was being closed.
