| Inmate faces new charges for harassing domestic battery victim |

DECATUR — Jade A. Morey, a 32-year-old jail inmate who is awaiting trial for domestic battery, is facing new charges after he was arrested for repeatedly calling the victim to try to persuade her to help him win his case. “Morey had contacted the victim of his domestic battery case via phone from the jail more than 50 times,” said a probable cause affidavit by Macon County sheriff's Sgt. Kris Thompson. During a phone call on Dec. 15, Morey told the victim, “you have to write that (expletive) letter and tell them you were under distress and I didn't (expletive) touch you,” Thompson wrote in his statement.
