| Corrections officer injured during assault by inmate, report says |

BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP – A veteran corrections officer was jumped by an inmate and knocked unconscious at the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility Friday morning, reports said. Ten-year veteran officer Garrett Faryna was working at the facility around 7 a.m. Friday when an inmate punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground, The Burlington County Times reported. Faryna hit his head on the floor and was knocked unconscious, reports said. Other officers wrestled the inmate to the ground and suffered injuries in the process, reports said. Faryna was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton where he was being treated for his injuries Friday night. Read More. |
