LAKE CITY, Fla.—An inmate died Tuesday one day after a correctional officer had to be airlifted to UF Health in Gainesville Monday at the Columbia Correctional Institution, the Florida Department of Corrections said. Jason S. Rodriguez, 46, was scheduled to be released in 2035 and was in prison on charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder, jail records show.
