Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore is no longer on lockdown, Alabama Department of Corrections officials said. We have learned there is still controlled movement inside the prison. It comes after a weekend of riots and stabbings in March when the prison warden and a guard were injured. We've also learned two inmates were stabbed Monday at Draper Correctional Facility in Elmore. A fight broke out in one of the dorms around 8 a.m., according to DOC spokesman Bob Horton. He told ABC 33/40, one inmate used a makeshift knife and stabbed two others. The injuries were not life-threatening. The suspect in the stabbing was taken to a different correctional facility. Two separate incidents are also under investigation at the St. Clair Correctional Facility in Springville. Saturday, an inmate fell down the cell block stairs and broke an arm. In another incident, an inmate reported being assaulted. He had what prison officials describe as puncture wounds to his arms and legs. No other information was released. Read More. |
