| Inmate on death row pronounced dead at Kansas correctional facility |

WICHITA, Kan. - An inmate on death row has been pronounced dead by facility medical staff, the Kansas Department of Corrections said. Douglas Belt, 54, died at the El Dorado Correctional Facility on Wednesday evening. He was convicted of killing Lucille Gallegos, 43, who was was found decapitated at a Wichita apartment in 2002. After his conviction for Gallegos's murder, Belt's DNA was eventually tied to several rapes in the the 1980s and 1990s, KSN TV reports. Read More. |
