| 89 UConn Health Center employees part of Dept. of Corrections program get layoff notices |

FARMINGTON–Another round of layoff notices were issued to state employees on Monday as part of an expected 2,000 or more layoffs to help balance the state budget. According to the Office of Policy and Management, 89 employees at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington received layoff notices on Monday. Those employees work for a Department of Corrections inmate medical care program. Those employees will no longer work for the department as of the close of business Monday. So far, about 350 layoff notices have been sent to employees part of Executive Branch departments, including the Department of Social Services (77), Department of Children and Families (113), Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (68) and the Department of Economic and Community Development (4).
