WOODFIN – The Woodfin Police Department has charged 10 people with second-degree trespassing after multiple suspects caused damage to the Old Craggy Prison on April 8, police say. On April 8 at 11:31 p.m., about 17 suspects arrived at the prison on Riverside Drive in several vehicles and the suspects caused damage to a perimeter fence and then entered into the laundry facility, according to a news release from the Woodfin Police Department. Shortly after, something startled the suspects and they ran back to their cars fleeing the scene quickly and almost left some of their friends behind. Police say that the laundry facility is in use by the North Carolina Department of Corrections while other parts of the prison are condemned due to extremely dangerous conditions. Read More. |
