NICHOLLS – Corrections Corporation of America Coffee Correctional Facility held a groundbreaking for its new Inmate Vocational Training Center last week. The $2.1 million, 6,300-square-foot expansion will house new vocational training programs, offered in partnership with the Georgia Department of Corrections and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College in Valdosta, to assist inmates in gaining the necessary skills for solid employment after release. Coffee Correctional Facility already provides training in masonry, carpentry, horticulture, office technology, and CDL training as well as high school equivalency education and life skills programs.
