| DOC staff deserves credit for positive efforts, successes |

In response to the April 17 editorial, “Prison misconduct must stop,” Corrections Director Colette Peters, in my opinion, is doing what is necessary to manage a department and reduce the negative effect of the 1 percent of its employee work force described in the April 10 report. The 99 percent of dedicated employees are taking the brunt of the negative reporting on the 1 percent as a personal attack on their already difficult job. The disingenuous comment about the department being “more worried about employees’ hurt feelings” appears to be a personal attack aimed at Colette Peters. The department has been “rooting out” problems long before your report. Do you report for public scrutiny on the 1 percent of your work force with unacceptable behavior? Read More. |
