| Mayo Correctional Institution participates in Torch Run |

MAYO - The Florida Department of Corrections joined federal, state and local law enforcement and correctional officers from across the State of Florida to participate in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run to support Special Olympics Florida. For over 30 years, the Florida Department of Corrections has been a major force in supporting the Torch Run and efforts to bring awareness to the Special Olympics. Mayo Correctional Institution’s Rapid Response team participated in the Special Olympics Torch Run on April 19. The over four-mile run began at the Hal W. Adam’s Bridge and ended at the Lafayette County Courthouse. The torch was then taken to Suwannee Correctional Institution and will continue to be ran across the state of Florida. Read More. |
