Wyoming Honor Farm and BLM to host wild horse and burro adoption The Bureau of Land Management and the Wyoming Honor Farm are hosting a wild horse and burro adoption, the first of two to be held at the prison facility in Riverton next month. The adoption will be held on Saturday, May 21. The day before, potential adopters will have a chance to preview the horses and burros from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public. On Saturday, gates open at 7:30 a.m., with the competitive bidding starting at 10:30. Honor Farm Wild Horse Supervisor Curt Simmons and his trainers have a lineup of close to 30 halter and saddle-started horses, as well as three burros that will be up for adoption. All the horses have been haltered, led, trailered, had their feet handled and are in various stages of a gentling program. Read More. |
