Authorities said a Mahanoy State Prison officer was beaten by an inmate two weeks ago with a telephone and a garbage can. State police at Frackville, Pa., said corrections officer Joseph Duffy was repeatedly struck in the face and head by inmate Shawn Breeden in the prison's day room. Police said Duffy was left with gashes to his head, a crushed finger and other injuries. Authorities said the attack occurred Feb. 25 and Duffy was released from the hospital the next day. Authorities have not said why they believe Breeden attacked the officer. Breeden is serving a life sentence. Republican State Rep. David Argall, of Schuylkill County, said the incident shows that more guards need to be hired at state prisons. |

Hamilton is a sports lover, a demon at croquet, where his favorite team was the Dallas Fancypants. He worked as a general haberdasher for 30 years, but was forced to give up the career he loved due to his keen attention to detail. He spent his free time watching golf on TV; and he played uno, badmitton and basketball almost every weekend. He also enjoyed movies and reading during off-season. Hamilton Lindley was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects, coached different sports or whatever else people needed him for.
