Two prisoners that allegedly attempted to escape from the Michigan Reformatory in November 2015 pleaded not guilty during their arraignments in Ionia County Circuit Court Tuesday. John Robertson, 43, and Christopher Schnoor, 43, were bunkmates who were both found in the prison's small yard at approximately 10:50 p.m. on Nov. 3, 2015 with tools to help them escape, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections. Both men said they wanted to represent themselves during jury trials. Attempting to escape from prison is a five year maximum sentence on top of the sentence the prisoner is already serving.
