| Kewanee couple joins Rauner’s salute to fallen correctional officers |

Laurie and Al Streicher of Kewanee, parents of fallen Stark County Deputy Adam Streicher, joined Gov. Bruce Rauner and other state officials to recognize the corrections officers who have been killed in the line of duty. During the ceremony at the Memorial Wall, Rauner thanked Illinois Department of Corrections and Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice staffs for their work in our criminal justice system to make sure our state is a safer and better place to work and live. “You are brave men and women who put yourselves at risk every day, and the people of Illinois are grateful for your service,” Governor Rauner said. “While today we are able to honor the work you do on behalf of Illinois, there are those who we have lost in the past.
