Jail inmates face barriers when coming back

CHAMBERSBURG - People who have done their time for minor crimes face a complex transition back into the community.

The 200 or so people released each month from the Franklin County Jail face the issues and barriers of re-entry.

The newly formed Franklin County Re-entry Coalition is hosting a Re-entry Summit from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at the King Street Church in Chambersburg. The goal of the free public event is to provide a learning experience for the community and to discuss issues that the coalition should focus on.
