Two corrections officers in Monroe were assaulted yesterday by a prison inmate. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment. In a release, the Washington Department of Corrections says the officers were assaulted by James Suber after his cell was searched at the Monroe Correctional Complex-Washington State Reformatory Unit. The DOC says Suber hit one of the officers in the head with his fist and another officer was struck when he intervened. No weapons were involved. It’s unclear what led to the incident. Read More. |
