Tulsa County officials on Monday agreed to a plan to pay off $1.9 million owed to the jail’s medical contractor and meet the contractor’s $476,000 a month payments for May and June — a total of $2.85 million.

Devised by county Chief Financial Officer Tom Gerard, the plan transfers $1.56 million from 15 other accounts and agencies to the county jail fund. It also utilizes about $700,000 in county jail tax revenue and about $500,000 in anticipated payments from other entities to house prisoners.

The plan was approved by the Tulsa County Budget Board, which comprises the county’s eight elected officers.
