| Lawmakers question impact of felon voters on General Election |

According to the Virginia Department of Elections, nearly 4,000 felons have registered to vote since Gov. Terry McAuliffe restored certain felons' voting rights. But one local delegate and defense attorney, Chris Collins (R-29), called the blanket order issued in April to restore the rights an "over reach of power." "As an attorney, I have insisted on giving people their civil rights back, and I am in favor of giving people their civil rights back, but we need to have a process in place to do so," Collins said.
