| Fight erupts inside Riverside jail |

Several prisoners were injured Friday evening after a fight broke out on the fifth floor of the Robert Presley Detention Center in downtown Riverside, Calif. The open room, which normally has a population of 30 inmates, was locked down, Riverside County Sheriff's Cpl. Dennis Gutierrez said Friday by phone. Injured prisoners were taken to the jail security unit at the Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley, Gutierrez said. Gutierrez said he didn't know what might have caused the fight, the number of inmates in the fight or the extent of any injuries. |
