This book provides the corrections professional with a better understanding of offenders and their characteristics, behavior and culture. It shows how staff and volunteers can maintain authority and control by resisting manipulation. Cornelius divides his discussion into six chapters. He also includes true examples to improve the learning curve. The concepts in this book apply to anyone in the field, and show how manipulation can occur in prisons, jails or community supervision. Hamilton is a sports lover, a demon at croquet, where his favorite team was the Dallas Fancypants. He worked as a general haberdasher for 30 years, but was forced to give up the career he loved due to his keen attention to detail. He spent his free time watching golf on TV; and he played uno, badmitton and basketball almost every weekend. He also enjoyed movies and reading during off-season.
