| Commission OKs creation of retirement benefit fund for Community Corrections |

The Reno County Commission approved a policy change Tuesday that will create a “benefit payout fund” for Reno County Community Corrections. The new policy, explained Community Corrections Director Randy Regehr, allows the agency to set aside up to 1 percent of grant funds used to fill positions for future retirement benefits of those grant-funded employees. The mechanism has been available in the past for juvenile intake and assessment workers, but now the Kansas Department of Corrections has expanded it to adult supervision workers, Regehr said.
